to all you tim hortons customers

dear tim hortons customers.
every morning from 6:00 am until 10:00 am, your local tim hortons drive-thru team is being timed. this timing starts once your vehicle pulls up to the drive-thru window, and ends once your vehicle has completely pulled away. these times are an essential and critical part of our jobs. our boss' happiness, as well as our own competitive spirits, depend on these seconds spent with you at the window. however, as much as we enjoy chatting, we do not enjoy it during these four hours. on be-half of all drive-thru teams across canada id like to say the following:
  1. please order everything you need at the order box. while we can change your orders at the window, it takes time. and we do not have this time.
  2. please have your money ready before you reach the window. if you are the only person in drive-thru, feel free to stop a few meters away from the window to find your debit card, master card, tim card, or change. exact change is appreciated and will be rewarded with a smile :)
  3. if you have more than two beverages, just take the stupid drink tray. its alot faster to hand out one or two trays then a whole bunch of separate drinks.
  4. if your going to have two separate orders, please have the decency to be fast
  5. commenting that we are fast makes us feel fast and makes us happy :)
  6. do not open your coffee and take take that first sip before you pull away
  7. do not un-wrap your breakfast, sandwich or bagel and take the first delicious bite before you drive away. we know you're going to eat it- you dont have to show us.
  8. do not adjust your seat to your desired position while at the drive-thru window
  9. is a single penny all that important?!?!!! yes 100 pennies ads up to an entire dollar. but do you really gotta sit in drive-thru for two minute just because we forgot to give you your penny
  10. tips are accepted and are great :)
  11. if the entire drive-thru team is standing by the window looking at you with impatient, angry faces- leave. we dont like watching you take your first sip of coffee, then a bite of your sandwich, only to then adjust your seat, put your seatbelt in place, collect your garbage into a neat little pile, then slowly pull away. [ech-em mr. telus worker. we didnt appreciate that and if you had looked at the window you would have seen four angry faces! see if i come re-new my contract with you!]
  12. if you want to order more than three dozen donuts or more than two dozen muffins, could you at least call in? our baker doesnt like having to re-stock the entire show case just from one order. and besides, it takes time. once again, we dont have time.

i hope you folks reading this dont take this all wrong and think im rude. as a tim hortons employee and a drive-thru worker, i just urge you to try to go a little faster.

in closing, i would like to thank all the west side customers who come through and move fast. and even bigger thank-you to those who give us exact change for their coffee(s) every morning and move quickly. its appreciated.

sincerely,

a tim hortons employee.
