and so, here i am

dan has lots of family. im not even talking about his aunts, uncles, cousins, cousins kids etc.. im talking about his immediate family. his family has nine kids, dan being one of them. his parents have six girl grandchildren and then the two boy grandchildren- twins at that. so you can imagine that with all those little kids, i get quite the babysitting jobs sometimes.
take now for instance. im sitting at his brother and sister-in-laws place. the three kids are in bed. not quite sleeping, since i can hear one of the boys playing with the blinds beside his bed.
im not 100% sure what im going to be doing while his brother and s.i.l are out voting wither or they want uniforms or no.. in fact, i have ZERO idea. but dans on his way and i suppose sooner or later we will end up watching a movie or so. or perhaps whichever boy is awake will wake the other one (since they share a room) and then we will have our hands full. especially if they wake up their sister. that cud turn out real interesting!
well.. here's dan. wish us luck!! :)
**/edited june 16, 2009/**
last night sure did turn out interesting. to say the least! twin #1 started crying. loudly. so i snuck in their to give him his bottle. except then twin brother #2 also wakes up and together they send out a chorus of loud wailing. dan just stood by the door, cringing with his hands over his ears. when i ran out of that room he gave me a look that was 100% i told you so. of course, they ended up waking their sister, who, when i went to check on her, started crying and wanted her mom. great. just great. of course, when i told her that she had to go back to sleep, she just cried harder. and eventually she threw up. on purpose. yum. eventually dan and i decided that enough was enough so we put her in bed, told her to stop crying, and went downstairs. it didnt work. half an hour later she was still crying. so i went back up there and the minute i stepped in her room, i wanted to run. it smelt horribly. she had barfed all over her bed, pj's and hair. so i called dan and after much coaxing he came up to help me. he took the sheets off while his niece sat on the floor with this pleased as punch look on her face. brat. i found some new sheets and a quilt and re-made her bed. then dan suggested a bath. within half a second flat her pants were off and she was standing by the bathtub, waiting for us to fill it for her. she loves baths. after an hour and a half of sitting in bubbles that are "proven to help children sleep easier".. we pulled the plug. dan kept asking her, "when are you coming out of the bath". and she would look up at him and say, "when theres no more water!" in this cute voice. so finally he pulled the plug while her back was turned. and then for the rest of the night she sat there watching a movie with us. she absolutely refused to go to bed, despite the fact that she was basically asleep on the couch. man is she stubborn!!
so yea.. me not knowing what i was going to do while the kids slept turned into a me wishing the kids had kept sleeping. and me wishing i had listened to dan and let twin #1 just cry himself to sleep. maybe then dans niece would have continued to sleep!
oh well. i am now richer than i would have been had i been sitting at home.
and i still want kids :)
so does dan. but he said he only wants one at a time (lol) and one that listens to him extremely well.
dont we all?! :)

june 12- mini roadtrip

instead of giving me a birthday present, dan decided to take me on a mini road trip to waterton on june 12th- our 15 month dating anniversary :) so, around lunch time on said date, dan came to pick me up and we headed out to waterton. we drove through prairie and native reserve and through the foothills before the mountains and finally, the mountains. and- just because- i sat in the middle of the truck the whole way up there :) talk about romantic! ;) oh. and i totally ate chips that he thought smelt and tasted gross. so he refused to kiss me. not so romantic. but hey, doesnt mean i didnt try to steal a kiss or two!

anyways. this is cameron lake. it was our first destination. its a lake approximately 10 miles from the town of waterton. its way up in the mountains. and, there was still ice! dan figured the water was no more than 1 degree! and only that because the whole lake wasnt ice- just near shore. and it was kinda slushy ice. a man even kayaked through it.

on our way back from cameron lake, we came across a bear! dont worry. we were in our truck. MY truck! (i wish.) i was pretty excited that i saw a brown bear. but dan insists that it wasnt a brown bear. it was a "cinnamon black bear". sheesh! technicalities aside, i saw a bear :)

and we also saw a mountain goat. which dan claims was a "nice goat" and if he would have been able to hunt within the park, this one would be no more. hunters these days!

next stop- boat tour. i got to be seventeen years old again since it was half price ($17.00 for 17 and under, $34 for 18 and up! crazy!). the tour took approximately two hours and it went from one end of the lake (in waterton, alberta) to the other end (in goat haunche, montana!). it was pretty cool. the only bummer was we didnt really see any exciting wild life. as in, no bears or moose :( oh well.

during our 25 minute stop over in goat haunche, we took a picture of us on the beach :) i had a great idea that, since this was the last boat tour of the day, we should just "accidentally" miss the boat and stay there for the night. that was until dan showed me the proof that a bear had been very close in the area not too long ago. then i decided there was no way i was staying there for the night.

after the boat we went for supper at a lounge so we could watch the stanley cup game. or well, part of it. (wasnt that hot pink suit NASTY!?!!) i had a blt which was basically just the "l" since half of it had no "b" and half a piece of "t" while the other part had the "b" "l" and "t". 'twas odd but yummy :) i love small towns. we went for a walk after supper to get some ice cream and there was a radio guy doing his radio show live there so there was live music outside and it was just so peaceful and cool and "close knit".

after our walk we drove up to red rock canyon. the mosquitos there caused us only to stay long enough to get like.. four pictures. i decided to share this one with you :)

and finally we pulled out of waterton, making two more stops on our way home. our first stop was to the "bison enclosure". its a huge fenced in area between the foothills and you can just drive in and see the buffalo's in their natural habitats. its cool. we found a herd of at least twenty grazing by a small lake of water. and then we found this buffalo and his friend taking a snooze elsewhere. lucky me got this great picture just as he looked up to check us out :)

our final stop of the day was at the old man resivoire. theres a HUGE dam there and the water level difference on either side of the dam is quite amazing. and shocking.

by the time we made it home we were both quite tired and ready for some sleep. the day was great though. one i would definitely like to repete.

not only did i get to spend an entire day with dan.. i also got to cross one more thing off my "thirty till may 2010" list. :)

as well, tonight im going out with all the girls from my class for coffee at starbucks.

more pictures of dan and i

so like previously mentioned, yesterday was mom and dad's anniversary.
their 19th anniversary to be quite exact.
and in celebration oma r. took the entire family and danielfur out for supper!
at tony romas, which was quite awesome.
so mel decided to take over my camera and well..
.. allow me to share the three strange pictures she took of dan and i.

may 26.
-
dan and john were engaging themselves in a rib eating contest.
"it doesnt matter who eats faster... its who eats the most" quote john.
john actually won! only b/c dan decided he was full and didnt wanna get sick.
and john pushed himself and decided he'd order another serving of "all you can eat" ribs. gross.
i had a yummy sandwhich and was quite impressed with my fries as you can see :)

"haha i love this picture! look mom! he looks like he's like, smitten or something!" quote mel well actually... he was just being a goof. cuz everybody knows thats what danielfurs do best!

so then we try for a normal picture & dan decides to give me some ears.
thanks dan :) ive always wanted to be a rabbit!
-

then i took this picture at night. as the sun was setting to be quite exact with you. and to be even more exact, i took lots of pictures. maybe ill share them with you another day :)

today and the future?!

today has sucked. at least the most part of it has. my alarm went off at quarter after five and i pressed the snooze button. my brain didnt really process the fact that it was going off because i needed to get up and get ready for work. smart move, jess! when it went off five minutes later i realized i would be late and quickly got out of bed and rushed off to work. i managed to confuse my manager when i showed up because michelle had originally been scheduled. however, these managers dont seem to realize that she has school and that her availability of 6-10 is in fact, pm not am. so i had taken that shift and told ashley (the other manager) who apparently didnt pass that fact onto bobby, our other manager. oh well. then at around quarter after six i started feeling horribly sick. as in it hurt to walk. i was on drive thru window and since it was past six we were being timed. so me taking off for the bathroom every few minutes sure did not help the times, or my teams happiness level with me. whatever. i called mich and she agreed to come in and finish the shift for me. so around seven she rolled in and i took off. bobby even said that some how, under that sun burn i had on my cheeks, i was managing to look pale. so not cool.
the first thing i did when i got home was head to bed. i slept till close to lunch time and then woke up and spent some time on the computer. dan came over after school for half an hour to drop off my camera (he figured id like to have it) and we spent that time on the front deck, eating chips. i love how goofy hes been acting with me lately. well not just lately. hes always been somewhat of a goof. but these past few days hes just been even goofier and well, its been alot of fun. i think i might love him even more than when he left :) i slept from 2:00pm straight through supper and then woke up and read my book. and now, here i am. an empty stomache, feeling a weird mixture of emotions (i feel like im going to cry and i just dont know why!!) and wishing i could crawl into dan's arms. but i cant and so, im almost ready for bed again.
the good news of the day is that both dan and i are hoping to have our debts paid off by the end of this week. and then we are going to save, save, save! maybe not spending wont seem so difficult now that i know its going towards our future. theres nothing else that can possibly take our money. except the necessities. and a few dates :) but its summer time and so those can come cheaper now. like walks and rollerblading.. dont need money for that. and besides, its going to be busy on the feedlot this summer so dan will be working quite hard. i know already that its going to be hard and i might get cranky with him for always being gone and busy but in the end, with all the money hes going to make, itll just help us out. and it will give me the opportunity to work some more too and save up for us as well.
i cant wait till that future of ours. i know it wont be easy- nobodys life ever is. but being with him is all that matters. and i cant wait to marry him and have kids. maybe thats cheezy but hey, its part of who i am :)
well, goodnight everyone. im looking quite forward to sleeping in tomorrow. then after that its up early every day for work. yay!

frc youth weekend and dan's "home-coming!"

may 23 2009

youth weekend.. what a blast! approximately 60 youth came together at the monarch frc to join together for a weekend of fun. those from calgary and lacombe spent their friday nights at local families homes that had been opened up to them. friday night was spent at the church in an evening opened with "get to know you bingo". the rest of the night was spent playing a few indoor games, mingling and getting re-acquainted with the other youth, and having a topic on five verses of proverbs 3.
it was so great seeing all the youth from lacombe that i had spent time with at camp two years ago. (the calgary youth were all younger and none of them had gone to blue bronna with me.)
saturday was kicked off with a french toast/fruit/sausage breakfast. we then proceeded to the school where within our six groups, we were tied in pairs of two. we had to hold hands and then the leaders tied our wrists together. and we had to stay like that for all the games. whoever broke their "bonds" would lose 3 points for their group. i was group c and i got tied to connie :)

group c. may 23, 2009
-
our group (group c) consisted of (from left to right) louisa lacombe, steven vdm lethbridge, tim calgary, steven vw lethbridge, me lethbridge, jon lethbridge, connie lethbridge, jan lacombe, and (not pictured) simone also lethbridge. for lunch everyone headed over to the oostlanders for a big bbq and eventually, a water fight. around 3:30 everyone started heading home (except for jan and rebecca, who stayed here in lethbridge till this morning!)
dan arrived home ten minutes after i did!! i was super excited to see him! he got the hugest hug on planet earth :) we then headed over to his house and unloaded his truck. i should have taken a picture of the outside of his truck.. its CAKED in mud. wow. we then headed over to evergreen golf centre where the rest of the "group" was. most of them went golfing while dan and i, rebecca, mel and connie went for a round of go-karts! so fun!! afterwards we headed to dairy queen for some icecream and then headed in the direction of home for the night.
all in all i dare say my weekend was FANTASTIC. and while i missed having my danielfur there for the youth weekend, it turned out good. i got a great tan/sun burn and a mosquito bite so i can now pack it in till the winter! just joking. the weather was beautiful the entire weekend and is still gorgeous out there. the forecast is pretty great too. summer may be here to stay! :) :)

our picture "weekend". may 14 - may 16

thursday. waiting for the rain to stop at henderson lake

friday. we took a pile of pictures but dan refused to smile. so i had to tickle him to get this one :)

friday. on our walk behind our property. he actually smiled willingly!!

friday. me and my awesome rubber boots! ♥

friday. me in the tractor with dan. he had to seed at night so off we went. i even got to drive it!!

friday. dan wrinkling his nose at me. in the tractor. i think he was getting sick of pictures :)

saturday. me at ryan's birthday party. sitting by the campfire, wearing one of dan's many camo jackets.

saturday. dan would kill me if he saw this :) so i put it up anyways. it makes me laugh.

i miss him.

dans bear trip

well last night was the night dan took off for his week long bear hunt. and after many, many tears on my part he pulled out of our driveway and headed his truck north. of course i spent a good part of the night texting him so that i would know he was definitely awake, and am now super tired. but hey, it was worth it!
for the past week i kept getting these horrible dreams of my phone ringing during this week. and when i picked it up it wouldnt be dan. instead it would be nick, one of the guys he went with. and nick would tell me dan got hurt and was in the hospital in critical condition. it scared me and made me want him to stay home ever more!
and of course, last night, only ten minutes after he arrived at his destination (his 10 hour trip ended up only taking him 7 hours. of course, there was no traffic cuz it was in the dead of night), i heard a great news announcement on the radio. "last night a little boy got attacked in his tent by a black bear. he is now in edmonton hospital in critical condition." o yay. calm my nerves instantly there!
so anyways, i sorta decided that jessica needs a life. i mean hey, if she cant even let her boyfriend go away for a week without tears then maybe shes just a bit too attached? or maybe she just loves him lots :) but either way, i decided to use this week to my advantage. that means i getta hangout with all the friends i havent hung-out with in ages. or well, one-on-one with them anyways. so starting tonight, i have a coffee date with lee. and 2mrw night i have a dessert date with lana. and thankfully this weekend is the "youth weekend". so ill have something to do till my danielfur comes home. i hope!
and theres always that door frame project i could work on. not to mention the two items still on my to do list. (clean out my car and organize my desk). yea, i think maybe ill be busy.

dan.grad 2009

its almost fourteen months for us! ♥ im the luckiest girl alive to have this guy in my life. and even luckier that he's more than "just a friend". hes my best friend and always will be. im happy to say that each day, hour, or minute i spend with this amazing guy, i find myself even more in love with him than ever before. i never thought i would find "the one" but now that i have, im glad its dan.
dan; thanks for spending all this time with me. i know i havent been the most easiest person to get along with and im amazed yet thrilled that youve chosen to stick with me through it all. im proud of you. proud of who you are. ur the best looking guy i have ever layed eyes on. even when you get old and start to wrinkle you will still be the best looking guy out there. not only that, but you are as bright as the summer sun! who is the guy who got their diploma in the mail a full month before they were even finished school because they were technically done?! you. and who is the guy who knows basically everything about animals, cars and everything else? also you. your knowledge of things continues to surprise and amaze me. i look forward to learning a great deal from you.
i love you ♥
even though your already starting to get grey hairs :P :)

picture of us- houses- thankful for

so i started thinking that maybe blogging was pointless. i mean hey, you cant blame me. do people even read this? and sure, maybe im not spending near as much time on facebook anymore but now im just spending that time on here instead. true, i have found a whole pile of very interesting blogs to read and totally couldnt give that up. but my thoughts were more on if writing in a blog nobody reads is pointless? i decided yes. and i also decided no. yes because whats the point then really right? on the other hand, i decided it wasnt pointless because i totally love blogging. its like, therapy (?!) for me. no, no, no. i dont need therapy. i just love writing and it allows me to express how i feel and stuff. so i shall be continuing to blog- for now. and ps. if you actually do read this, please leave a comment. id love to know its not as pointless as im starting to think :)

anyways, i have yet another "dan and jess" picture to share with you people. (i really love this camera. dan actually lets me take pictures of him!! miracle? definitely!)
dan and jess. henderson lake. april 28 '09
-
yesterday was one of those days where dan and i went, "hey we're basically broke. we're trying to save.. lets go do something that costs nothing but lets us have fun and dream". so we went for a short stroll at henderson lake and then we took some pictures of houses we like. by henderson lake. now those of you who live out here will know that the houses by henderson are rather large and cost way more than dan and i may ever make in our entire lives. but that doesnt mean we cant dream right? and that doesnt mean we cant steal their exterior design and build a smaller version on our own gorgeous property one day, right? so here. take a look at these two houses. they're my favorite on the lake front road.

maybe i just like this one cuz it looks small and cuz of the colors. and not to mention the fact that it looks.. inviting. know what i mean? i definitely love it.

however, this one is my favorite. i love the colors (it reminds me of anne of green gables) and i absolutely LOVE the huge front porch that is covered. talk about hanging out with friends and family on that porch during the nice summer evenings. yup. if we build i think i want this place. or well, my place to look like this one. its perfect! ♥

talking about houses, most of the blogs i read are about interior decorating and stuff and so its kinda gotten me into the mood lately. if i could be an interior decorater, i totally would! any day. so yesterday i drew this. one day i want to have sooo many books that i could fill almost an entire room with them. so this is for one of the walls in my "dream" library. we shall see what happens eh?

books! yesterday i was driving down the main street in town and saw a sign that said "book sale" in the window of this second hand, super cheap book store. ive been to this place before. the long wall is all christian books. perfect eh? so of course when i saw that i had to go check it out. they were 50% off! so i bought 11 books. for $60. yea, i know. so much for saving. but how could that be wrong?! its cheap. and ill always have them. and a million people borrow books from me. and sides, itll get me that much closer to that library :)

well, in conclusion ill just quickly catch up on my thankful list.

for tuesday, april 28: i was thankful for getting the chance to dream about our future with dan and for having the pleasure of going out for a cheap dinner with dan and his brother and future sister in law. it was nice :)

wednesday, april 29: i am thankful that so far we havent received the forecasted 20cm's of snow.

//* two days till grad!!!

"d" day

yesterday was one of those great, amazing days where i had fun being dan's girlfriend. now dont get me wrong, but its those days that i get to spend almost the entire day with him that i love best.
he picked me up around 10:30 and we headed out to the mall with the intention of finding myself a dress for sunday. of course, the one i liked required $130, with runner up being $80. no thank-you. im sure i can find something i like just as much, elsewhere.
as we were heading to winners we passed tip top, a store full of dress shirts, ties, and suits :) yay! we spontanteously decided to go in there and see what we could find for dan's grad.
ps. dan looks super great in a suit :) although his idea of wearing a top hat for grad? im not so fond of that lol but i suppose its his day so he can wear whatever he wants. including the hat.
we finally found a $160 suit and put it on hold for when dan's mom gets back from vacation. i guess we will see what happens with it then, or if our suit search was fruitless.
after suit shopping it was off to the cattle auction for us. dan was selling seven of his cow-calf pairs as well as two bred cows. and lets just say he did great! especially considering what he was originally hoping for them.. well he got more! :)
around 3 we headed out to his place and into the tractor for some seeding. now when i told my mom and mel that the tractor had gps and basically drives itself, they got some pretty interesting ideas of what we were doing in that tractor. however, i assure you they arent true. dan was turned around, looking out the back of the tractor to make sure the seeder was still seeding and didnt stop, while i faced out the front, singing my heart out to the country music turned out nice and loud! :) on a side note, did you know re-filling a seeder with seed takes like, 40 minutes?! i learned that :)
next on our agenda was to go push over a tree at his brothers house. so we headed over there- dan in the payloader (spelling?!) and me following behind in his truck :) (yipee! havent gotten to drive his truck in forever!)
once the tree had taken a tumble we headed to my house to watch a documentary called "ghosts of rwanda". he had to watch it for school so thats the only reason we were watching it. it was so boring. but i learned a few things and a few questions were raised but no, i wont be further researching this movie.
around 8:30ish we headed over to the church to help mom, mich, and mel with setting up tables and decorating for this big supper thing thats happening there. it was fun, although after a while folding napkins all fancy gets lame. very lame. we were there till around 11 or later and by then, it was stupid. i never wanna set another table in my life! but i guess i dont have a choice.
all in all, i learned that i love dan more and more each day and that im truely blessed to have someone like him to spend my life with.

nrc or frc?

so dan and i have a big decision ahead of us. one that may affect us for the rest of our lives. which just makes the whole deciding part that much harder. i think another reason we arent jumping to make the decision is because we both want it our way. dan wants to go to his church because thats where he grew up and i want to go to mine because thats how i was brought up. but is there really even that great a difference between the nrc (netherlands reformed church) and the frc (free reformed church)? as far as i can tell, not really. i mean sure, the nrc sings slower and they dont use people's names when they pray, but that shouldnt be the reasoning behind me saying my church is better. as far as i can tell, the preaching is very similar (although maybe its just rev. sonnevelt who preaches more like our church does?!). my dad said he can see the frc becoming more liberal in their ways. like in what they sing, what version of the Bible they read, the issue of hats, etc. however, he said he can see the nrc staying more conservative, longer.
i just really am not sure what our decision's answer is going to be. we cant chose a church just to make our parents happy. it has to be our decision and what we feel is right. but what is right?

my farming experiences and thrills

something has always drawn me to the idea of farming, despite the fact that ive always realized that its not all fun and games. this past year has brought me closer to this farming experience and ive realized that there really are many great things about it.

dan bought approximately twenty-one pregnant heifers these past couple months and within those months he's watched a few calves die and a few survive. watching a heifer give birth to twins and then knock them over every time they attempt to stand isnt fun. neither is knowing you cant do anything because the heifer wont let you into the pen to rescue the innocent calves.

however, the other day i had the privillege of watching dan try bottle feeding a calf. it wasnt working too well but at the same time it made me smile to see such a young life still alive.

i've also gotten to witness dan assist his dad in delivering a calf (although it came out dead). sometimes, their farm ways make me laugh and shudder all at the same time. this heifer was having a hard time delivering her already dead calf. so dan pulled up in the gator and hooked it up to the calves legs. mr. slingerland hooked the heifer up to the fence with a chain and dan stepped on it. out came the calf. remind me never to let dan be my doctor when im pregnant and in labor!!

but not all of my farming experiences have involved calves. the summer time is usually busiest for farmers, with harvesting and all. i spent quite a few evenings and nights in the tractor, sitting on the extra seat beside dan and driving up and down silage piles. i will say this. its scary. not all the time since the thrill of being up high is exciting. but when dan packs those edges and the tractor is almost off the edge... lets just say i usually grab the handle and hold on. or dans arm and squeeze it tight :)

i also have to say this. i LOVE auctions and whenever dan goes, i try go with him. if im not busy working or something of course. i have no idea what makes them so exciting and cool for me but whatever the case is, i love them. and probably always will.

all-in-all im thankful im dating a farmer (although even if dan wasnt a farmer i would still love him just as much as i do now). doing so has given me many thrills and experiences.

ps. my wishes seem to be coming true! the weather is beautiful today and the sun is shining amazingly :) maybe we'll go for a great walk around henderson lake!

new blog. yesterday. one year. court.

im not sure how to start of this new blog. all im going to say is ill try my best to keep it up. and if i put you to sleep.. well here are my apologies in advance!

yesterday proved itself to be a rather bad day (as i predicted already at 6:30 in the morning! "jessica rienstra thinks today is going to be a bad day"). i ended up going to work and making lunch for the old folks only to become sick and spend at least an hour or so of time in the bathroom wishing i could just go home. and of course, nobody could take my shift. at least none of the regular kitchen people. i must say i am very thankful for "family" out here. or well.. dan's family. theyve proven on a few occasions to be very helpful and loving people and i am grateful that i didnt fall into the hands of a horrible, mean family! ANYWAYS, dan's cousin, rachel, willingly showed up to complete my shift so that i could go home and fall into the comforting arms of sleep. (and later the comforting arms of dan as he sat on our couch all evening letting me sleep with my head in his lap while he re-read a book off my shelf).

thankfully today has proven to be a much better day, with me feeling 99% better (thanks to two advils i downed this morning, as well as a biscuit and cup of tea that mom lovingly made for me. what would we do without moms?! im glad i dont have to find out). and to top it off today is march 12, 2009! ur probably wondering why that even matters or perhaps you've already guessed from the title of this rambling blog. but ill just say it just to confirm your guesses and to supply an answer to those wondering. today is the day that dan and i get to celebrate one year of happiness (mostly anyways. there were a few non-happy occasions but they build a relationship into what it is). exactally one year ago dan and i were rollerblading at indian battle park (i was wearing a short sleeve shirt and capris! can you believe it? if only the weather was that nice now!! although i cant complain. its beautiful out there!). today is exactally one year ago that he told me there was no other girl out there for him because he was pretty sure the only girl he wanted was me :) and im going to tell you, im pretty sure that ive fallen in love with him more and more over the past 365 days! he's proven to be very caring and loving over and over again. not to mention the millions of times hes made me laugh and smile, despite the fact that i totally wasnt in the mood to do either. hes given me a life time full of memories all in one year and i cant wait till the coming years to see what else his goofy mind will come up with :) he's the love of my life and i am so thankful that i met him. even though we were both pretty sure we didnt ever want another boyfriend/girlfriend at the time.

while the whole anniversary aspect made this day great already, there is yet another fact. i was somewhat nervous about my trial (that word in itself made me worried and thinking bad thoughts!!). i was scheduled to appear in the fort macleod court at 10:00 in the morning for my speeding ticket from october 19. and so me and my mom got into our "lovely" boat (the new yukon which personally... ew) and off to fort macleod we went. i had been caught doing 75 in a 50 zone and had a $150 ticket. ouch? yes. but i was pretty sure there was no way i was going remotely that fast! so thats why i had decided to fight it. however, i was informed by the court defence that lazers are very accurate. theres zippo room for error. so i suppose i must have been going that fast after all :( but thankfully mr. nice guy got the judge to drop one of my demmerits (leaving me with two instead of three!) as well as made my ticket only $57!! i'd say i got off lucky :) and the sweet thing is.. after my ticket i gotta sit and watch some other guy argue his ticket out. cept he actually gotta go through the entire "witness" and "cross-examining the witness" thing. not fair!!!
