basically jess

jess and jess. may 1, 2009.
bad picture but hey, its us :)
its been quite a long time since ive hungout one-on-one with jess and yet every time we manage to find a few hours to get together, i have a complete blast! theres just something about her that makes me act four billion years younger than i am. and its not completely a bad thing.. right?! i mean, we all need time to goof off and have fun with friends. and if you met jess- well i guarantee you'd be acting goofy too :)

i met jess at work. the very first shift we ever worked together, we landed on front counter. both of us. same till. it was so fun! then eventually it came out that she use to go to ccs (the "other" christian school" and went to the lethbridge nrc. so we had our religion in common too. that just made it better.

after brad and i broke up, jess started scheming. her intentions were to hook me up with mark, her boyfriends brother. it didnt work. mark was "just way too quiet for me and.. hey what about mark's friend? the guy with the curly hair? he seems cool!!" and so she started her match making all over again. quite obviously her skills work because, well here i am. dating dan. her second cousin (or so) and one of her good friends.

so anyways.. jess is dating bill. theyve been dating approximately six months longer than dan and i. so we both have our separate lives with our guys and occasionally the four of us get together to hangout and watch some movies and have some good "old fashioned" fun.

but today i gotta go shopping and watch a movie with her. all by myself! it was great. and i realized just how lucky i am to have such a great friend. to have such great friends in general. and so, i wanna leave you with this:

friends are special

dont give up your friends for a guy or for anything else

cherish them

love them

spend time with them

and remember how lucky you are to have them!

searching for..

... the perfect china.

see that big dinner plate? the one sorta in the middle of the entire china picture? well thats the one i want. one problem. is being discontinued. and for what i would love it for.. well i need like, a hundred? or more! so yea.. so much for that i guess. but if anyone- and i mean anyone- sees anything remotely like it, please let me know? you'd make a certain girl very happy! namely, me.

the name of this line of china is: "churchill historic royal palace". and i only want something similar to the big plate. the other ones are ugly :)

and just looking for an opinion, but do you think these plates would look good with red napkins? like a deep red linen napkin? kinda like these:

just dreaming about one day :)

goodnight!

the most amazing sky EVER

i really dont know where to begin except with the fact that last night i was sitting on the couch with dan and i happened to glance out the window. the sky was absolutely stunning! so stunning in fact, that i just needed my camera. i ran for it and perhaps got a little too camera happy!

these are the pictures i got (and believe me, there were way more). i placed them in the order i took them. hope you enjoy them as much as i enjoyed taking them!

i totally, completely enjoy the distinct color layers in this picture

i really think this one is my favorite of them all.
i love how the bottom is completely black and then the sky is an amazing hue of pastel pinks, purples and blues.
its love ♥

i love the thin line of purple in this picture

and if i had to pick a second favorite, this would be it! dont ask why. i just like it.

i have an odd confession about scenery pictures. i hate looking at them. i dont go online to photography blogs that are full of scenery pictures. in fact, i tend to skip over them. i do however, enjoy looking at my own scenic pictures. probably because im the one who took them so i have a guilty pleasure about them. i 100%ly understand if you dont enjoy looking at these pictures. i guess its a had to be there occasion.
my true aim in the photography world is to take pictures of people. i just havent figured out how yet. i can take pictures of people and then i look at them and think theyre junk. and well.. usually they are. theres the odd one that i like. but most i dont. and so, i look at countless photography blogs, trying to collect ideas for lighting, poses and backgrounds.
so i beg of you to bear with me. please critique my work. all of it. i can take it.
if you dont enjoy the pictures, say so. if you do, also say so :)
anyways, enough posts for one day- goodnight everyone!

more pictures of dan and i

so like previously mentioned, yesterday was mom and dad's anniversary.
their 19th anniversary to be quite exact.
and in celebration oma r. took the entire family and danielfur out for supper!
at tony romas, which was quite awesome.
so mel decided to take over my camera and well..
.. allow me to share the three strange pictures she took of dan and i.

may 26.
-
dan and john were engaging themselves in a rib eating contest.
"it doesnt matter who eats faster... its who eats the most" quote john.
john actually won! only b/c dan decided he was full and didnt wanna get sick.
and john pushed himself and decided he'd order another serving of "all you can eat" ribs. gross.
i had a yummy sandwhich and was quite impressed with my fries as you can see :)

"haha i love this picture! look mom! he looks like he's like, smitten or something!" quote mel well actually... he was just being a goof. cuz everybody knows thats what danielfurs do best!

so then we try for a normal picture & dan decides to give me some ears.
thanks dan :) ive always wanted to be a rabbit!
-

then i took this picture at night. as the sun was setting to be quite exact with you. and to be even more exact, i took lots of pictures. maybe ill share them with you another day :)

randomness =D

jessica's shoulders are starting to peel and she feels like flying a kite! la la la la la♥
man i love this weather. minus the wind. but u cant fly a kite without wind now, can ya?!
-
and a special thank-you to "grandma" from work who took time out to buy me a grad present :)
grandma, without you, work would be horrific!
xox
-
and a happy belated anniversary to mom and dad!
nineteen years! wow.
and to celebrate, oma took as all out for supper at tony romas.
danielfur-tree included =)
and boy o boy was it ever delicious!
thanks oma! :)
[maybe ill get pictures up of our dinner later!]
.
and in only a short ten days, i will be turning 18!! yahooo!!! :)
.
YES IM HYPER :)
have a wonderfully great afternoon/night!

may two six

jessica wishes she at least knew what she was so confused and mixed up about
my emotions are driving me crazy! i feel like laughing and crying all at the same time and i have zero idea as to why. it sucks.
and then jen tries to talk to me and help me figure out why and well, i think she gave up on that idea. i was confusing both of us as i tried to explain!
grr!!!
but thanks jen ♥
and dan too cuz he tried to help me too.. which also didnt work.
i love you!

today and the future?!

today has sucked. at least the most part of it has. my alarm went off at quarter after five and i pressed the snooze button. my brain didnt really process the fact that it was going off because i needed to get up and get ready for work. smart move, jess! when it went off five minutes later i realized i would be late and quickly got out of bed and rushed off to work. i managed to confuse my manager when i showed up because michelle had originally been scheduled. however, these managers dont seem to realize that she has school and that her availability of 6-10 is in fact, pm not am. so i had taken that shift and told ashley (the other manager) who apparently didnt pass that fact onto bobby, our other manager. oh well. then at around quarter after six i started feeling horribly sick. as in it hurt to walk. i was on drive thru window and since it was past six we were being timed. so me taking off for the bathroom every few minutes sure did not help the times, or my teams happiness level with me. whatever. i called mich and she agreed to come in and finish the shift for me. so around seven she rolled in and i took off. bobby even said that some how, under that sun burn i had on my cheeks, i was managing to look pale. so not cool.
the first thing i did when i got home was head to bed. i slept till close to lunch time and then woke up and spent some time on the computer. dan came over after school for half an hour to drop off my camera (he figured id like to have it) and we spent that time on the front deck, eating chips. i love how goofy hes been acting with me lately. well not just lately. hes always been somewhat of a goof. but these past few days hes just been even goofier and well, its been alot of fun. i think i might love him even more than when he left :) i slept from 2:00pm straight through supper and then woke up and read my book. and now, here i am. an empty stomache, feeling a weird mixture of emotions (i feel like im going to cry and i just dont know why!!) and wishing i could crawl into dan's arms. but i cant and so, im almost ready for bed again.
the good news of the day is that both dan and i are hoping to have our debts paid off by the end of this week. and then we are going to save, save, save! maybe not spending wont seem so difficult now that i know its going towards our future. theres nothing else that can possibly take our money. except the necessities. and a few dates :) but its summer time and so those can come cheaper now. like walks and rollerblading.. dont need money for that. and besides, its going to be busy on the feedlot this summer so dan will be working quite hard. i know already that its going to be hard and i might get cranky with him for always being gone and busy but in the end, with all the money hes going to make, itll just help us out. and it will give me the opportunity to work some more too and save up for us as well.
i cant wait till that future of ours. i know it wont be easy- nobodys life ever is. but being with him is all that matters. and i cant wait to marry him and have kids. maybe thats cheezy but hey, its part of who i am :)
well, goodnight everyone. im looking quite forward to sleeping in tomorrow. then after that its up early every day for work. yay!

frc youth weekend and dan's "home-coming!"

may 23 2009

youth weekend.. what a blast! approximately 60 youth came together at the monarch frc to join together for a weekend of fun. those from calgary and lacombe spent their friday nights at local families homes that had been opened up to them. friday night was spent at the church in an evening opened with "get to know you bingo". the rest of the night was spent playing a few indoor games, mingling and getting re-acquainted with the other youth, and having a topic on five verses of proverbs 3.
it was so great seeing all the youth from lacombe that i had spent time with at camp two years ago. (the calgary youth were all younger and none of them had gone to blue bronna with me.)
saturday was kicked off with a french toast/fruit/sausage breakfast. we then proceeded to the school where within our six groups, we were tied in pairs of two. we had to hold hands and then the leaders tied our wrists together. and we had to stay like that for all the games. whoever broke their "bonds" would lose 3 points for their group. i was group c and i got tied to connie :)

group c. may 23, 2009
-
our group (group c) consisted of (from left to right) louisa lacombe, steven vdm lethbridge, tim calgary, steven vw lethbridge, me lethbridge, jon lethbridge, connie lethbridge, jan lacombe, and (not pictured) simone also lethbridge. for lunch everyone headed over to the oostlanders for a big bbq and eventually, a water fight. around 3:30 everyone started heading home (except for jan and rebecca, who stayed here in lethbridge till this morning!)
dan arrived home ten minutes after i did!! i was super excited to see him! he got the hugest hug on planet earth :) we then headed over to his house and unloaded his truck. i should have taken a picture of the outside of his truck.. its CAKED in mud. wow. we then headed over to evergreen golf centre where the rest of the "group" was. most of them went golfing while dan and i, rebecca, mel and connie went for a round of go-karts! so fun!! afterwards we headed to dairy queen for some icecream and then headed in the direction of home for the night.
all in all i dare say my weekend was FANTASTIC. and while i missed having my danielfur there for the youth weekend, it turned out good. i got a great tan/sun burn and a mosquito bite so i can now pack it in till the winter! just joking. the weather was beautiful the entire weekend and is still gorgeous out there. the forecast is pretty great too. summer may be here to stay! :) :)

friday 5: lessons

What kind of out-of-school lessons did you take as a kid? nothing. i went to school, came home, and hung-out with my friends up the street. i learned that everyone is different. for example, some kids cry easier than others. and i learned that i couldnt have everything for myself (although i definitely still tried!).

What valuable lesson did you learn this past week? that i need to grow up and stop feeling sorry for myself. i need to let go of my boyfriend perhaps even a little so that he wont feel so "sat on" and i need to get a life. yea, this week may have been somewhat tough on my thoughts.

Who in your life really needs to be taught a lesson? definitely me. thats a given. i think that really, everyone has at least one lesson they need to be taught. i cant really think of anyone specific right now.

What kinds of lessons would you love to have a private teacher for right now? photography lessons! thats a definite. i would absolutely LOVE that. i really, really would.

What steps have you taken to lessen the impact of these rough economic times? nothing really. i honestly havent felt them here. i mean, sure, there are things around me that are changing because of it. but i wouldnt really say anything in MY life has changed.

friday the 22nd

its day 5 of my "lonely" week. it seems like forever since i last saw dan and yet its only been a mere five days. thankfully it will only reach the six day maximum before plummeting to zero!
dan and the hunting group moved their efforts half an hour closer yet this morning. he texted me this afternoon to inform they had actually seen a bear today. in fact, they had seen two! i asked why he hadnt shot either of them and he told me they had been "illegal" bears, meaning they had cubs. he said it was nice to see though. i wish i had been there to take pictures. it would have made for some beautiful ones. im still hoping he gets one but am starting to think he wont. oh well. as long as he had fun, right?
today was the grades 7 through 9 hockey tournament at our school which not only involved our students, but three teams from various other schools. im happy to announce that our team did great and even got to take the trophy home! congrats guys!!
i helped the student council with their "snack shack" at the tournament. i was stunned at the amount they had spent on food. $700!! and when i left only about $400 had been made back. its a shame how much food and money is going to waste. however, its a learning experience for next time. and hey, it gave me something to do on a day where i originally had nothing to do.
tonight is the beginning of "youth weekend". it involves the three free reformed church youth groups from alberta. both calgary and lacombe youth are coming down for two days full of games and events with us! it should be fun. im hoping. and if not, oh well right? its an experience. and a chance to make lots of great new friends. of course, i already know a few from camp two years ago but.. hey. why not?!
the weather is fantastic! i tried to tan in my t-shirt and shorts but the wind is still somewhat chilly. hey, being cold is a small price to pay for a nice tan. which i didnt quite succeed in achieving. maybe 2mrw! im hoping so anyways. the temperature is sitting at a great 15 degrees. summer may finally have arrived! :)
i realize my blog posts have been lacking pictures lately. i just havent been in that much of a mood to take pictures. maybe 2nite and 2mrw. or maybe next week. it depends on what happens and what i find for inspiration.
i cant wait till dan comes back 2mrw night. it will feel great being back in his arms, even if its just for a quick second when he drops in on his way home.. at midnight :)
oma r. will be arriving in a few short hours. it will be nice to see her again. and not so nice to suffer under her bossyness! but ill do my best to put up with it :) and i do love her.
well, hope you have a great weekend everyone!
im happy to say my weekend has already started and, so far so good! :)

my week so far

my week of "freedom". too bad i havent exactally looked at it that way. sure, ive gone out with my friends and have plans for the remainder of the week too, but im still missing my bestfriend and i still plan on spending the rest of my life with him. this week has been interesting, to say the least. bill, our baker at work, informed today that i have been somewhat quiet and "different" this past week. he asked if i was okay and i was like, "yea?!". i really didnt notice that i was different and that me missing dan was coming out in my actions and stuff. so, to my family, friends and, co-workers, im sorry if ive been somewhat strange this week. and dan?- im sorry if i ruined ur trip.
monday, may 18
not going to lie. i spent a good chunk of my day crying and feeling sorry for myself. pathetic? most definitely. but i ended up following through with previously made coffee plans and at seven i met leanna at tim hortons. we had a great talk about dan and calv, marriage, our futures and everything else under the sun.
no bear was shot
rainy day
tuesday, may 19
worked from 6am to 2pm and had a fairly decent day. dan called :) but his service wasnt so great so his call got cut super short and we resorted to texting again. very, very slowly. oh well. at least we got to talk :) i spent my night with lana, having dessert at boston pizza and talking about our lives. man, we really hadnt hung-out in FOREVER and it felt real refreshing to catch up! thanks lana. love you! ♥
up where the bear hunt was happening, a down fall of 5cm of snow was also happening! so the hunting "gang" spent most of their day hanging out. then they went out and saw some tracks.
didnt shoot a bear though :(
rain and thunderstorms down here
wednesday, may 20
worked 8-4 which sucked. im so use to working 6-2 so whenever 2 rolls around i feel like i should be leaving! the sleeping in felt great though. and i got to work with both anna and nella, which was super fun! spent my night watching a few dukes of hazard's, helping mel fill candy bags for the hockey tournament on friday, and then reading my book. dan called at had great service so we gotta talk for quite a while. of course, his battery ended up dying but.. oh well!? :)
no luck for the bear hunting group so they ended up packing up their tents and heading two hours closer to home! and me!! :) they spent the night in a "ritzy" motel for only $40 a night, per room. saw some tracks, not sure about bears though. definitely didnt shoot one.
rain and somberish down here
and then there's today...
thursday, may 21
ive always considered thursday to be the "1/2" sort of mark for the week. or well, definitely the first day of the "2nd 1/2". so im thrilled to announce that, not counting the remainder of today, dan will be coming home in two full days!! i cant wait to see him late saturday night, early sunday morning.

today was free iced coffee day. CRAZY! im going to shoot whoever thought of the idea. of course it was one of those tdl guys who sits in a tim hortons office all day thinking of rules, more food ideas, and well.. ideas. nice of him, eh? of course, hes not the one who has to serve it to every single customer that wants one! i was in drive-thru with one other girl so it was sort of crazy. our manager ended up standing there making iced coffee's for everyone. its crazy and its definitely not fast making.

  1. first you gotta grab the cup. duh right?
  2. then two shots of cream according to the size
  3. then the vanilla base
  4. then the flavor shot optional. i usually opt for about a half inch of french vanilla. its good :) but of course, i get priviledges cuz i work there. you might not be so lucky!
  5. add the ice
  6. add the iced coffee from the "coffee cooling" machine
  7. and stir/shake

ugh! not cool.

today's acension day so, off to church i shall be in a few hours. which is fine :) and ill getta see all my friends AND talk to them after church for however long i so desire. which may be long, may not.

still no little fish. dan thinks my fish "sam" is pregnant. however, ive had her for like, two weeks for sure and still no little fish. shucks! oh well. she sure is getting fat! maybe its all that food i feed her :)

dans been out most of the day as far as i can tell. no texting really happening between the two of us which im taking to mean he's out tracking the big fat bear that hes (hopefully) going to shoot! my fingers are crossed that they shoot three today so that they can come home tonight but i know my hoping is going to turn out to be in vain. of course they wont shoot three bears today. especially cuz they havent shot any yet today! and its already 4:30.

the weather has smartened up and is BEAUTIFUL today :) so much for the predicted rain. im so glad we didnt get it though!

2mrw is the hockey tournament at school. not quite sure if thats where ill end up. i dont have to work 2mrw, or saturday! yay! but next week i get a great five day week. which is great :) more money for my empty pocket book. not to mention that $34 cheque i got in the mail from the gov't! :)

oma's heading over here 2mrw as well, from her home of holland. the language difference has always been somewhat of a barrier between us kids and her. not to mention she can get a little bossy at times. but hey, shes our oma right? we gotta love her! and we do! :)

friday night and saturday is the youth "weekend". we got youth coming from two other frc churches in alberta and we're going to have lots of games and hopefully, lots of fun. if all else fails, itll give me an opportunity to take some pictures. yay! me ♥ pictures.

id like to send out a special thanks to a few people for just being there for me this week:

  1. of course, my family. theyve tried their best to give me things to do.
  2. lee: for going for coffee with me monday night and for suggesting we go again tonight after church. too bad i have a curfew eh?! :) ♥
  3. lana: for going for dessert with me tuesday and including me in the youth weekend plans. xox
  4. dan: for talking to me every chance he gets. i love you and miss you lots ♥♥♥
  5. anna and nella: for cheering me up at work and putting that smile back on my face
  6. darren: for offering to teach me how to dirt bike.. on dan's bike. too bad the tire got ruined! i would have loved to learn :)
  7. and last, but definitely not least, kelly! it seems that even though shes all the way in ontario, she senses when im down. and then texts messages me and makes me smile :) love you!
  8. and everyone else at work who have tried to make work fun. this past week especially.

There's always gonna be another mountain- I'm always gonna make it move. Always gonna be an uphill battle- sometimes Im gonna have to lose. Aint about how fast I get there, aint about whats waiting on the other side. Its the climb!

our picture "weekend". may 14 - may 16

thursday. waiting for the rain to stop at henderson lake

friday. we took a pile of pictures but dan refused to smile. so i had to tickle him to get this one :)

friday. on our walk behind our property. he actually smiled willingly!!

friday. me and my awesome rubber boots! ♥

friday. me in the tractor with dan. he had to seed at night so off we went. i even got to drive it!!

friday. dan wrinkling his nose at me. in the tractor. i think he was getting sick of pictures :)

saturday. me at ryan's birthday party. sitting by the campfire, wearing one of dan's many camo jackets.

saturday. dan would kill me if he saw this :) so i put it up anyways. it makes me laugh.

i miss him.

dans bear trip

well last night was the night dan took off for his week long bear hunt. and after many, many tears on my part he pulled out of our driveway and headed his truck north. of course i spent a good part of the night texting him so that i would know he was definitely awake, and am now super tired. but hey, it was worth it!
for the past week i kept getting these horrible dreams of my phone ringing during this week. and when i picked it up it wouldnt be dan. instead it would be nick, one of the guys he went with. and nick would tell me dan got hurt and was in the hospital in critical condition. it scared me and made me want him to stay home ever more!
and of course, last night, only ten minutes after he arrived at his destination (his 10 hour trip ended up only taking him 7 hours. of course, there was no traffic cuz it was in the dead of night), i heard a great news announcement on the radio. "last night a little boy got attacked in his tent by a black bear. he is now in edmonton hospital in critical condition." o yay. calm my nerves instantly there!
so anyways, i sorta decided that jessica needs a life. i mean hey, if she cant even let her boyfriend go away for a week without tears then maybe shes just a bit too attached? or maybe she just loves him lots :) but either way, i decided to use this week to my advantage. that means i getta hangout with all the friends i havent hung-out with in ages. or well, one-on-one with them anyways. so starting tonight, i have a coffee date with lee. and 2mrw night i have a dessert date with lana. and thankfully this weekend is the "youth weekend". so ill have something to do till my danielfur comes home. i hope!
and theres always that door frame project i could work on. not to mention the two items still on my to do list. (clean out my car and organize my desk). yea, i think maybe ill be busy.

Friday, May 15, 2009

another friday

its a friday and i got the day off. here i am, sitting behind my computer after eating my breakfast of froot loops. i usually have no problem with finding things to blog about. however, today i seem to have reached a dead end. after reading all the blogs on my blog list, and changing my background, i still have an empty head.

so instead of writing a long, pointless blog about nothing and instead of spending hours on the computer doing nothing, i suppose ill get offline and complete my list of things to do. of course, like most of my lists, i dont usually complete them entirely. but hey, its just a guidline :)
orange ones are completed.
  1. vacuum the basement for mom
  2. clean our bathroom. also for mom
  3. clean up my side of the bedroom i guess thats whats needed when your parents are trying to sell the house. it seems i spend a lot of time cleaning my room. pointlessly i might add, for in a few hours it will be a disaster again.
  4. work on my door project
  5. go help dan pack up his truck for his trip next week ill be terribly bored when he's gone but im determined to make the best of it and go out and have some fun with people i havent had fun with in forever
  6. clean out sam's fish bowl sam is the fish :P
  7. and still on my lists... finish cleaning out my desk.
  8. clean my car
oh fridays!

"that bright pink bench!" part deux

remember this?

it now looks like this:

isnt it great?! all i had to do was find a piece of material that was big enough, and then staple it firmly in place. and voila! a new piece of "art".

see that pillow on my bed? the little square one? it has the same material. and luckily i had just enough material left over from a long time ago when i made that pillow. and so, i put it to good use and covered the ugly pink bench with it. and now, it matches my room and looks great!

and for a close up of the great material:

thats one project complete!

as a side note.. that door project? still working on it! :)

jasmine star photography

head over to www.jasminestarblog.com to meet jasmine, an amazing wedding photographer. her pictures are breath taking and make me wish i could afford to head off to photography school. however, until that is possible ill just have to be satisfied with looking at professional pictures. one day the pose ideas will come in handy.

Wednesday, May 13, 2009

jessica has decided that looking at wedding pictures makes her want to be a photographer and makes her want to get married. hmmm....?!
jasmine star has amazing pictures. im definitely jealous of her skills.
ill share her website with you next time. honest.

to all you tim hortons customers

dear tim hortons customers.
every morning from 6:00 am until 10:00 am, your local tim hortons drive-thru team is being timed. this timing starts once your vehicle pulls up to the drive-thru window, and ends once your vehicle has completely pulled away. these times are an essential and critical part of our jobs. our boss' happiness, as well as our own competitive spirits, depend on these seconds spent with you at the window. however, as much as we enjoy chatting, we do not enjoy it during these four hours. on be-half of all drive-thru teams across canada id like to say the following:
  1. please order everything you need at the order box. while we can change your orders at the window, it takes time. and we do not have this time.
  2. please have your money ready before you reach the window. if you are the only person in drive-thru, feel free to stop a few meters away from the window to find your debit card, master card, tim card, or change. exact change is appreciated and will be rewarded with a smile :)
  3. if you have more than two beverages, just take the stupid drink tray. its alot faster to hand out one or two trays then a whole bunch of separate drinks.
  4. if your going to have two separate orders, please have the decency to be fast
  5. commenting that we are fast makes us feel fast and makes us happy :)
  6. do not open your coffee and take take that first sip before you pull away
  7. do not un-wrap your breakfast, sandwich or bagel and take the first delicious bite before you drive away. we know you're going to eat it- you dont have to show us.
  8. do not adjust your seat to your desired position while at the drive-thru window
  9. is a single penny all that important?!?!!! yes 100 pennies ads up to an entire dollar. but do you really gotta sit in drive-thru for two minute just because we forgot to give you your penny
  10. tips are accepted and are great :)
  11. if the entire drive-thru team is standing by the window looking at you with impatient, angry faces- leave. we dont like watching you take your first sip of coffee, then a bite of your sandwich, only to then adjust your seat, put your seatbelt in place, collect your garbage into a neat little pile, then slowly pull away. [ech-em mr. telus worker. we didnt appreciate that and if you had looked at the window you would have seen four angry faces! see if i come re-new my contract with you!]
  12. if you want to order more than three dozen donuts or more than two dozen muffins, could you at least call in? our baker doesnt like having to re-stock the entire show case just from one order. and besides, it takes time. once again, we dont have time.

i hope you folks reading this dont take this all wrong and think im rude. as a tim hortons employee and a drive-thru worker, i just urge you to try to go a little faster.

in closing, i would like to thank all the west side customers who come through and move fast. and even bigger thank-you to those who give us exact change for their coffee(s) every morning and move quickly. its appreciated.

sincerely,

a tim hortons employee.

check out this interesting "bedroom"

i was browsing on design sponge again and found a post with a house tour of the pictured house. it looks modern on the outside, as well as the inside. i would love to own a house like this, only for one reason. the outside looks very modern and so, one automatically expects the inside to match. wouldnt it be cool to own a house like this and to make the inside totally different then what one expects? for example: make the whole theme cottagey or perhaps country-ish? i think it would be cool!
anyways, the point of showing you these two pictures and of posting this was to show you the picture below:
-

theres a bed above the stoves!! how cool is that? i think if i had that though i would have the side of the bed that's facing the kitchen enclosed. that way you dont know its up there! and then on the other side have it in the office or something. or have a sitting room there with the bed up in a loft sort. or.. something. i donno. i think its actually kinda cool though!
whats your thoughts?

facebook status says:

its almost fourteen months for us! ♥ im the luckiest girl alive to have this guy in my life. and even luckier that he's more than "just a friend". hes my best friend and always will be. im happy to say that each day, hour, or minute i spend with this amazing guy, i find myself even more in love with him than ever before. i never thought i would find "the one" but now that i have, im glad its dan.
dan; thanks for spending all this time with me. i know i havent been the most easiest person to get along with and im amazed yet thrilled that youve chosen to stick with me through it all. im proud of you. proud of who you are. ur the best looking guy i have ever layed eyes on. even when you get old and start to wrinkle you will still be the best looking guy out there. not only that, but you are as bright as the summer sun! who is the guy who got their diploma in the mail a full month before they were even finished school because they were technically done?! you. and who is the guy who knows basically everything about animals, cars and everything else? also you. your knowledge of things continues to surprise and amaze me. i look forward to learning a great deal from you.
i love you ♥

jaw dropping photography

now these photography skills are what i call amazing
-
-
i have no idea who christan and allegra are but they're photography inspires me. if i ever moved forward in the photography world, this is the type of pictures i would aim to take. theyre beauitful.

i also love how they dont always have the main focus of the photo as the centre.

ill be sure to keep that in mind next time i take pictures.

i also love how this couple manages to capture other couple's love, so clearly on film.

i am, to say the least, jealous of their skills!

//* prepare to be amazed

the beginnings of 'project two'

im going to admit right now that im pretty excited about this project. maybe even more so excited than my pink bench project. whats also exciting me is that i realized i now have a headboard that is just crying out to me to make something of it. and so maybe ill even have something else to add to my list of projects.

anyways, the revelation of what 'project two' is wont be happening just yet. i just thought id share with you the picture of me trucking home my materials in "the boat". we drove around town like this. mom was driving for a bit. oma in the passenger seat. and then taunte nel and i wedged in the middle seats somehow. but after dropping them off at tim hortons for lunch, it was up to me to get it home and unloaded.

ps. unloading large, floppy material is not fun when its super, super windy out. trust me!

so here is the materials i have so far:

  • an old door frame
  • mdf board
  • trim

ill post the instructions and the finished item once i am totally done it!

till then, happy blogging!!

that bright pink bench!

it all started with me being bored after supper and recruiting my two sisters and two brothers to go to value village with me. of course, once the four of them agreed, i had to rush out to my car and shove all my stuff into the trunk. officially, my trunk has ZERO room for anything out. do i need to clean it out? yes. today? preferably!!
so at value village i headed to the home hardwares section and started looking through the junky old furniture. and found a bench. kinda. is it really a bench? not sure. but whatever the case is, i like it. or well, like the image i see of it finished :) so i bought it for a mere $5.99.

lucky mel, john and mike got to sit in the back of my car with it on their laps (due to lack of room in trunk! lol) for over half hour. dont worry, they got a small ice cap as payment. "may i get five small ice caps please?" "FIVE small ICE caps??!?!!" you could totally hear the shock and panick and maybe just plain old frusteration that someone could do that to him, in his voice. good times :)

anyways, here she is. THE BENCH. yes, shes bright pink. but dont worry, im going to be covering her. with what, im not sure yet. i guess youll just have to be patient and wait and see.
as a side note, look at that beautiful flower below...

yes, thats in my room! and its mine, oh mine! for $0.00!!! mostly cuz lana bought it for me as a grad present but still.. was i not just posting like, the day before or so, about pier 1's amazing decorating items. and did i not have two similar items pictured on my list of wants? i can NOT wait to use this somewhere in my room!! :) and ps. i like this one better than the ones on that post!
